Holloman Air Force Base

The Daisy Track [first photo in video at right], named after the Daisy air rifle, sits outside on NMMSH grounds. The track was air-powered and used to test safety devices at Holloman AFB. The short track length contrasted with Holloman’s other track, the 10-mile long High Speed Test Track. Both, however, made vital and distinctive accomplishments in space research during the early days of the Space Race.
