National Museum of Nuclear
Science and History

The final noteworthy stop in Albuquerque has actually had three locations and three names during its existence. In 2009, the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History finally put down roots on the eastern edge of the Kirtland AFB boundaries.

Within its walls, the race to harness the nuclear genie is chronicled. Outside, many nuclear-related artifacts are splayed across the grounds, including military aircraft that have participated in actual live nuclear tests during the 1950s and 1960s.
